Justin focuses on venture opportunities in the healthcare sector, including biopharma, digital health and healthcare IT, technology-enabled healthcare services, medical devices, and diagnostics.
Prior to Norwest, Justin worked at a biotech startup where he worked in corporate strategy and business development roles responsible for platform collaboration deals and asset level out-licensing opportunities. Before that, he was a consultant at Clearview Healthcare Partners where he advised clients on corporate strategy, asset acquisition, and portfolio prioritization.
Justin has a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley focusing on cancer metabolism. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry/biophysics from Oregon State University.

One of the reasons I enjoy my job is because no two days are alike. My days end up being a mixture of meetings with management teams to hear what novel therapeutics they’re working on, brainstorming with the great minds on Norwest’s healthcare venture team, and reading scientific papers.
What inspires you about your work? What makes you passionate about your work?On the biotech team, we get the immense privilege of learning about cutting-edge drug development and the scientific advances being made by incredibly smart and talented teams. Each company we meet with is working on something novel, and learning about new approaches, technologies, and drugs every day is something I look forward to.
